Schertz Bank & Trust, with 30 stockholders and about $11,800.00, opened for business in June of 1913 as Schertz State Bank.

Well, a lot has changed since 1913! Back then, friendly service meant cashing checks with only a signature and a smile since everyone in the area knew each other on a first name basis. Today, banking is a little bit different, however Schertz Bank & Trust still conforms to the small town community bank’s standards of friendly, personal service with a smile!

Reflecting back over the last 95 plus years, Schertz Bank & Trust has continued to grow and thrive through two world wars, the Great Depression of the 30’s, the conflicts in Korea and Vietnam, the banking failures of the 80’s, and even the Year 2000 bug! We have always believed in steady, safe growth. In fact when Texas established branch banking, Schertz purchased its first branch in Kirby, Texas in September 1989. In March 1998, we built a branch at IH-35 and Schertz Parkway. On July 5, 2006, we opened a branch at 203 Highway 123 Bypass North in Seguin and on February 17, 2009, we opened our newest branch at 1917 Dutton Drive, Suite 205 in San Marcos. We have been a strong, steadfast institution in the communities we serve and we will continue to serve the citizens of Schertz, Kirby, Seguin, San Marcos and the surrounding areas for years to come.
